he tailored look is in.

  large variety of fabrics from savvy pinstripes, herringbone, flannel and every type of tweed are available for decorating. Fabrics in colours from warm charcoals and navy blues combined with bright whites, blacks or stones will give a masculine feel to a room. From furniture to wallpaper this masculine style can be used in a variety of settings from contemporary to traditional.

o add a dramatic new look to a bedroom you could take a bright white and navy pinstriped duvet and pair it with crisp white linen. A box-pleat bed skirt with a pair of flanged pillow shams in the same pinstripe fabric would finish the look. You could take the fabric selection one step further and pin stripe the walls. Paint the wall either navy or white. Add pinstripes by taping off every other two-inch section with wide painter’s tape. With the glaze “paint” the sections of wall that are not covered with tape and when the tape is removed the look is exquisite.

n a living room with leather furniture and antiques you could choose fabrics such as tweeds, wool plaids or cashmere. You could have a throw blanket or several toss cushions from these fabrics. Add a 6- inch boucle fringe around the blanket and the cushions to make the room very cozy. The walls could carry on the leather theme. Aprocess called “smooshing” which uses 2 parts glaze to one part paint makes the wall appear to be covered in leather.

f course you can always add real “flowers” once you are finished decorating. A bouquet adds such life to a room;
